BÁRA POLÁKOVÁ SINGS THE THEME SONG FOR OUR NEW FILM

The theme song for the new family film Martin and the Forest Secret was released on the day of its premiere in Czech cinemas by Bára Poláková. She composed the song entitled “Water” with David Hlaváč and sang it as a duet together with ten-year-old Anna Matásková. The single “Water” is released by Supraphon, the video clip for the song is completed by footage from the film.

“The film takes place at a summer camp in nature and water plays a very important role in it. I enjoyed looking at water not as a thing, but as a living being, and thinking about it. We then moved in this angle when writing the text,” describes the origin of the song Bára Poláková. “A ballad came out of it and we immediately thought that it would be great to sing it as a duet, where the second voice would be a child. It agrees with the film itself and the child’s voice captures the purity, innocence and vulnerability of the water itself,” continues Bára. “Unfortunately, due to the lockdown, we personally did not meet at all at that time, we each recorded in a different place,” Bára surprises in conclusion.
