BACKWOODS WILL BE PRESENTED AT PITCHING FORUM
The upcoming film Backwoods by Evženie Brabcová will be presented at the Sofia Meetings pitching forum.
Scénáristé našeho filmu Divočina Evženie Brabcová a Ben Tuček získali cenu Filmové nadace.
Autoři čtyř nejlepších scénářů převzali v pražském kině Mat od partnerů nadace, kterými jsou Barrandov Studio, energetická skupina innogy a Česká televize, ocenění nadace.
Členové výboru nadace letos podobně jako v předchozích letech vybírali z téměř stovky scénářů prakticky všech žánrů, od pohádek přes historické fresky až po příběhy ze současnosti.
The screenwriters of our film Backwoods Evženie Brabcová and Ben Tuček won the Film Foundation Award for the Best Script.
The authors of the four best scropts received the foundation’s awards from the foundation’s partners, such as Barrandov Studio, the innogy energy group and Czech Television, at the Mat cinema in Prague.
This year, as in previous years, the members of the foundation’s committee chose from almost a hundred screenplays in all genres, from fairy tales to historical frescoes to stories from the present four winners.
Film SH_T HAPPENS po uvedení v krátkometrážní selekcí sekce Orizzonte na Mezinárodním filmovém festivalu v Benátkách a v sekci Animation Spotlight na festivalu Sundance pokračuje ve své festivalové cestě a získal dvě ocenění na prestižním festivalu krátkých filmů Palm Springs International Short Fest 2020.
Získal zvláštní uznání v kategorii Nejlepší krátký animovaný film a také zvláští uznání v kategorii Nejlepší krátký studentský animovaný film.
Our film SH_T HAPPENS continues its festival journey. After the screening in the short film selection of the Orizzonte section at the Venice International Film Festival and in the Animation Spotlight section at the Sundance Film Festival, it has won two awards at the prestigious Palm Springs International Short Fest 2020,
It received Special Mention as the Best Animated Short Film and also Special Mention as the Best Student Animated Short Film category.
After the world premiere at the Berlinale in 2019, the Czech-Slovak-Polish co-production film The Kite by Martin Smatana was presented at more than 110 festivals around the world, including the most important animation film festivals in Annecy, Zagreb, Ottawa and Stuttgart.
This year it has added another 6 awards to its 23 awards from the previous festivals. These are the Next Generation Awards of the 5th SIFFCY International Film Festival for Children and Youth in India, the Best Animated Film Award from the 3rd PSIAF 2019 International Animated Film Festival in Palm Springs, USA, The Audience Award from 4th Indie Junior Allianz 2020 in Porto, The Payot Black Movie Award for Best Children’s Film from the Festival Black Movie 2020 in Geneva, the Prize for Best Short Film from J.E.F. International Film Festival in Belgium and the award for Best Youth Short Film at REGARD – Saguenay International Short Film Festival 2020, Saguenay in Canada.

Our film SH_T HAPPENS after its premiere in short selection at Orizzonti at the Venice International Film Festival and Animation Spotlight at Sundance continues its festival journey and will be presented at major film festivals in Vilnius, Atlanta or Moscow as well as at the Anifilm animation film festivals in Liberec and Anifest in Zagreb.
Slovak animation has great success abroad. After the short-film The Kite at the Berlin festival and its acquisition to the MoMA in New York and the world premiere of the short film by directors David Stumpf and Misha Mihalyi SH_T HAPPENS at the 76th prestigious Venice festival, Slovakia will also be represented for the first time in modern history Sundance Festival, to be held from 23 January to 2 February 2020.
SH_T HAPPENS will be screened in the short animation selection Animation Spotlight, featuring the other 7 short animated films. For Slovak cinema, it is first premiere at the Sundance Festival.
Co-production Czech-French-Slovak animated film by Michaela Pavlátová My Sunny Maad was supported by the Fund of the Council of Europe – Eurimages at the last session.
